Earls and cowboy hats Posted July 8, 2004 Calgary is not as awful as I thought it would be. It's big enough that most people try not to catch your eye, but people are pretty lucid once you start talking. I asked someone in a coffee shop whether he knew CJSF's frequency. He said it's CJSW you nitwit, the frequency is 90.9, and it's awesome. Well, he didn't say nitwit, but it would have been funny if he had. I think I'll go back to Earl's (pub across the street) to find out whether it's standard practice for Kristen to write notes on people's bills saying that they should come back and ask for Kristen. In other news, I have tried on a total of one cowboy hat so far. I risked looking in the mirror. Shockingly, I liked it. It was a $30 straw kind, though. I think I need to try felt and leather kinds. Is that what they make them out of? I never really paid attention before. Perhaps I will do some research before bed. And show up at Earl's and ask for a new cowboy hat instead. Update! Apparently, it's called "Romancing the next visit" and it's something they're all "supposed to do." Wooo! Personally, I don't need much romancing: if I drink close to home, I have that much less staggering to do. But I suppose Earls (not Earl's, you nitwit) caters to the off-campus crowd as well. Good thing I asked... |
